#26 – Different Strokes
Overview
A homogenized, cookie-cutter classroom of identically gifted students? Boring. We'll take the diversity of our intelligent, athletic, talented, funny, and kindhearted kids any day. We get that they process information in very different ways, but we celebrate that as a strength, not a weakness, and our teachers work hard to address a wide variety of learning styles. For example, students studying the founding of this country might read descriptions in a textbook, listen to historical accounts, research and give presentations using iPads, draw pictures of George Washington, even re-enact famous battles as part of Revolutionary War day! Every child has a chance to contribute; every child has a chance to be successful.
