Communication skills aren't only for the extroverted, and we believe that by introducing Elementary School students to public speaking and performing at a young age, we can help them conquer their fears and gain confidence in their abilities. This is why we offer a special Performing Arts elective (every day for the upper grades; twice a week in the lower level) to each and every student. Filled with a variety of fun activities and experiences, these classes not only train kids in theater and music, but they also teach them, even at a very young age, to maintain eye contact, to concentrate on facial expressions, and to project their voices appropriately. In addition, all of our students participate in the Elementary School Christmas and Spring programs, many of them with speaking and singing roles, and they also have the opportunity to volunteer for the Voice of the Lion choir and participate in local festivals.
