#74 – Just Create
The Claude Monet paintings hanging in the office last summer might not be authentic, but they certainly are impressive, especially when you consider that they were replicated by the tiny hands of Elementary School students! In our monthly Art Appreciation classes, children of all grade levels study famous artists and replicate their paintings of flowers, landscapes, seascapes, and animals, working with charcoal, chalk pastels, poster and acrylic paints, watercolors, and a variety of other mediums. In addition, we periodically offer After School Art enrichment classes which allow students to study one specific medium in depth; for example, they might spend a couple months learning how to draw animals, create a sculpture for a Mother's Day gift, or build a robot. In everything, our goal is to provide fun, pressure-free artistic experiences for kids to explore their own creativity and imagination.
